| Description of the problem | i filled the car with fuel and drove it home and parked it in the garage. The next morning when i went into the garage there was a very strong odor of gasoline fumes. The fumes were not in the passenger compartment, but rather, outside the car. After driving the car for a while and using about 1/8th tank of gasoline, the odor was no longer present. The repair shop has determine that the fuel sending unit must be replaced. I think mercedes did a recall for this problem earlier. *js |
